1990: Opening of the National Institute of Higher Education for Electronics

2000: The National Institute of Higher Education for Electronics was upgraded to a university centre by Executive Decree No. 197-2000 of 25 July 2000 on the establishment of the University Centre of Guelfa.

2009: Promotion of the university centre to a university by Executive Decree No. 09-09 of 04 January 2009 establishing the University of Djelfa.

Admission to the university for holders of the baccalaureate degree is based on conditions specified in a ministerial circular issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the same year of obtaining the baccalaureate degree, in addition to a minimum admission rate according to the available teaching positions and the university’s capacity.
