Preamble

     The Faculty of Economic Sciences, Commercial Sciences and Management Sciences at the University of Djelfa, Algeria, in cooperation with the Laboratory of Quantitative Methods in Economic Sciences and Business Administration Sciences and their Applications for Sustainable Development, will organize the first international scientific forum on Islamic banking in the context of contemporary financial and electronic developments, during the period between 09-10 April 2025, in view of the scientific and research body of the Faculty, which has observed many indicators of the trend of many countries of the world to adopt Islamic standards in the field of financial transactions of loan institutions, including Algeria as a suitable alternative for the stage. This reflects the commitment of lending institutions to develop banking activity as an important developmental axis in line with global trends in resource mobilization and the promotion of financial inclusion.

      In recent years, Islamic banks have tended to adopt the strategy of digital transformation and financial technology as the new approach to the development of banking; they have become a modern alternative to traditional banks, by keeping abreast of developments and using financial technology in the core of their business to remain competitive locally and globally.

      In order to effectively contribute to the national and international arena in the field of promoting and modernizing banking within the framework of Islamic Sharia, the organizing body strived to organize such forums in order to benefit everyone.

      What is the reality of Islamic banking? Has it succeeded in financing economies and confronting the recent financial and economic crises?

     What is the reality of the Islamic banking industry in light of contemporary financial and electronic developments?

Objectives of the conference

  • This international scientific forum aims to shed light on the activity of Islamic banking in Algeria in particular and in the countries adopting this approach in general.
  • Clarify the strategy of digital transformation and financial technology and its multiple dimensions (financial, economic, legal, legal, social…) and the role of the latter in Islamic banking.
  • Researching the extent to which the objectives of Islamic law are fulfilled and its suitability for this new trend in the banking field.
  • Identify financial technology and its contribution to improving the services and products of Islamic financial institutions.
  • Analyze the reality of financial technology in banks operating in accordance with Shariah regulations, and monitor the benefits of its applications.
  • Presenting international experiences on Islamic banking and Islamic finance and presenting the extent of its spread around the world.
